Obituary for Nancy Hawley Barefoot

Mrs. Nancy Hawley Barefoot of Dunn died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home.  She was born April 16, 1946, in Harnett County to the late Fred Eli and Babe Parker Hawley.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Evitte Barefoot and brothers, Tony and Gordon Hawley.

Mrs. Barefoot worked as a Health Care Technician with Dorothea Dix for 28 years and a cook with Stephenson’s BBQ for 22 years.  She loved cooking, especially for family and friends.  She also enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitching as well as bird watching. Mrs. Barefoot was an avid Washington Nationals baseball and Duke basketball fan. 

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Beasley.  A private burial will follow at a later date. 

Mrs. Barefoot is survived by her daughter, Retha Wilson; and grandchildren, Jordan Jackson, Ethan Jackson, and Nathan Wilson.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.

Mrs. Barefoot has requested anyone attending her services, to please dress casually.
