Obituary for Mrs. Julianne Judy Hurd Earnhardt

Mrs. Julianne “Judy” Hurd Earnhardt, 65 of Dunn died Sunday evening at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. Judy was born in Weis, Germany, on February 2, 1952. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Hurd; and brothers, Ronnie and David Hurd.

Judy attended Dunn High School and graduated with Honors from Campbell University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Harnett County and Mecklenburg County. Judy loved to cross stitch and was quite an artist.

We are comforted in knowing that she is at peace with her special canine companion, Riley.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m., at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Mullis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Judy is survived by her husband, Rickey Earnhardt of Dunn; her mother, Hilda Hurd of Coats; brother, Hank Hurd and wife Martha of Fuquay-Varina; and sister Linda Hurd Campbell and husband Steve of Fairfax, Va., two special pets, Seth and Sweet Baby.

The family will receive friends and family at 1:00p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
