Obituary for Margaret Anne Aldredge Greer

Margaret Anne Aldredge Greer, 75, of Dunn NC left for her prepared place in heaven on June 16, 2018. Her entire family surrounded her, as her faith became sight. Anne was born November 15, 1942 in Richmond Virginia to Emmett and Edna Aldredge. She was the older of two children, graduated from Dunn High School and attended Wake Forest University.

Anne’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved being part of any activities that involved her five grandchildren. She poured herself into the lives of each of her grandchildren and left them with many cherished memories. Her grandchildren as well as their friends lovingly referred to her as “the Bomb”. She was a kind, loyal and generous spirit. Another one of her loves was studying God’s word.  She held countless Bible studies at her home for over twenty years. She was a bold witness for Christ throughout her life and impacted many lives. Though she faced many physical challenges in her time on earth, she remained steadfast in her faith.

Anne was a member of Stoney Run PFWB church. She was involved in many organizations such as Christian Women’s Club, Touring Arts Club, and many other causes special to her heart. She also enjoyed her bridge club and the special friends in that group.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, June 19th at 11:00 at Stoney Run PFWB Church with the Rev. Rick Kelly officiating.

Anne is survived by her husband William “Bill” Greer; two children, William C. Fennell. Jr. and wife Kathy of Dunn and Lori Fennell Capps and husband Matt of Dunn; two step daughters Jill Greer of Benson and Lauren Greer Austin of Florida; and five grandchildren Tyler Fennell, Ansley Fennell, Trent Fennell, Adam Capps, and Sam Capps.  She is also survived by her brother Emmett Aldredge, Jr. and wife Gail of Wilmington and nephews Emmett Aldredge III of Raleigh and Christopher Aldredge of Lillington.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Monday, June 18th, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn, NC.

Memorials may be made to DUMA c/o Glad Tidings Church, 711 Fairground Rd, Dunn, NC 28334 or Meals on Wheels c/o First Baptist Church, 309 W Broad St, Dunn, NC 28334.
