Obituary for Haywood Wayne Lewis

Mr. Haywood Wayne Lewis, 59, of Hope Mills formerly of Dunn died Thursday evening October 26, 2017 at his home.  Wayne was born July 25, 1958 in Pensacola, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Retha Ann Edwards Ennis, brother, Gary Edwin Lewis and sister, Rebecca Warren Poole. 

Wayne was a graduate of Dunn High School. He had worked as a long distant truck driver; having worked for National Freight based in New Jersey, Clyde Barefoot Farms in Meadow and Eleree Inc. formerly in Dunn. He attended Faymont Community Mission Church in Fayetteville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Agnes Pierce and Rev. Jerome Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Hwy 13 Godwin. 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jane Honeycutt Lewis; parents, Haywood and Annie Ruth Lewis of Dunn; brother, James Edward Warren, Jr. of Dunn; sister, Glenda Beth Braschler and husband Bernard of Linden; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Poole of Coats. He is also survived by a godchild Dillon Eatstep and his daughter Jenny Eatstep.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.

Memorials may be made to Skinner & Smith Funeral Home, American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
