Obituary for George Wesley House, Sr.

Mr. George Wesley House, Sr., 69, of Dunn died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his home.

George was born June 18, 1948 in Cumberland County son of the late Barry and Daisy Bass House. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Ransom Hayes and Rev. Ronnie Hayes.

George was a 1967 graduate of Clement High School and a member of Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. He had worked for Coca-Cola in Fayetteville for ten years and retired from National Welders in Fayetteville after working twenty-five years. He enjoyed fishing and nascar racing.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, AprilĀ  20, 2018 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev .Steve Dixon and Rev. Beth Best officiating. Burial will follow at the Godwin Family Cemetery on Glover Rd.

George is survived by his wife Nancy Godwin House; son, George House, Jr. and wife Janet of Benson; daughter, Bobbie Hair and husband David Hair of Erwin; grandchildren Brittany Prince, Brittany Moore, Cassie Hodges, Sidney Hair, Nicholas House, Timothy House; great-grandchild, Elijah Johnson; brothers, Rev. Erfie Hayes and wife Vickie of Dunn, Bernice House and wife Ann of Autryville, James House and wife Leslie of Charlottesville, Virginia; sisters, Louise House of Autryville, Frances Lee and husband Andy of Dunn; sister-in-law, Frances Hayes of Dunn; caregivers, Janet Ellis, Porchua Godwin and Rita Bartlett and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 10 -11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Janet Ellis 1764 Wrench Rd. Godwin , N.C.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
