Obituary for Flonnie Pope Manning

Mrs. Flonnie Pope Manning, 88, of Dunn died Sunday morning July 1, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

Flonnie was born June 22, 1930 in Harnett County daughter of the late Nealie and Clara Wade Pope. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, L.H. Tew and James M. Manning; grandson, Marvin Wesley Gustafson; sisters, Lou Frances Royal and Barbara Ann Jackson.

Flonnie was retired from the medical records department at Betsy Johnson Hospital and at the time of her death was the oldest charter member of North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Grover Blackburn and Rev. Leon Tart officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Flonnie is survived by her son, Tony Harris Tew; daughters, Judy Tew Holmes and Linda Tew Gustafson all of Dunn; grandchildren, Neal Holmes and wife Kristen of Apex, Al Gustafson and wife Angie of Durham, David Gustafson and wife Eunmi of Jacksonville, Florida, Nathan Tew and wife Amy of Autryville; great grandchildren,  Crosby and Emma Holmes, Josie, Gram, Cassidy, Dylan, Katie and Evan Gustafson, Aubrey and Emily Tew.

The family will receive friends 10 -11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service and at other times beginning Thursday at 607 N. Park Ave. Dunn.

Memorials may be made to North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church 507 North Clinton Ave. Dunn N.C. 28334.

Arrangements are by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
