Obituary for Dallas Cox

Mr. Dallas Cox, 89, of Dunn died Thursday morning, August 29, 2019 at his home. 

Mr. Cox was born October 5, 1929 in Robeson County son of the late William and Rachel Johnson Cox. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Annie Rose “Connie” Cox; sister, Jean Ornsby and brother, Earl Cox. 

Mr. Cox was a graduate of Lake View High School in Lake View, South Carolina and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Duke Energy and Campbell University and was a member of North Clinton Avenue Baptist Church where he had served in many capacities. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Leon Tart officiating. 

Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Betty Brumbles Cox, son, Charles Cox and wife, Melanie Corgill Cox of Raleigh; grandchildren, Hannah Rose Cox and Benjamin Jefferson Cox; sister, Glenda Lane of Pinnacle and brother, William Cox of Fairmont. 

The family will receive friends 6 -8 p.m. Friday at  Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
