Obituary for Curtis "Bear" Beasley

Mr. Curtis “Bear” Beasley, 60, of Erwin died Monday, May 21, 2018 evening at his home.   Curtis was born March 1, 1958 in Johnston County, son of the late John Wayne and Anna Stanley Temple. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Libby Gray Beasley.  

Curtis had worked as an electrician and did security details including the Junction in Benson.  

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Pope officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.  

He is survived by his fiancée, Amanda Strasser Herring of Erwin; sons, Richard Earl Beasley and wife Lisa, and Nicholas Bryan Beasley both of Johnston County; daughter, Macy Herring Smith and husband Robert of Dunn; brother, Roger Wayne Temple of Wendell; sister, Carol Temple; and grandchildren, Austin Ray Beasley, Curtis Loew Beasley, Abby Elaine Beasley and Libby Grace Beasley.  

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
