Obituary for Charles David Fordham Sr.

Mr. Charles David Fordham, Sr., 69, of Dunn died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at his home. He was born January 31, 1948 to the late James and Martha Williams Fordham. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catina Fordham, brothers, Erwin Fordham, Joseph Fordham and sister, Paulette McNeill.

Mr. Fordham was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was self-employed in the roofing and construction business. He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Gospel Tabernacle Church with Rev. Randy Hill, Rev. Danny Meads and Rev. Josh Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Mazelle Chance Fordham; son Charles Fordham Jr.; daughters Consuela Blaizes and husband Delano Jr. of Dunn and Christie McDougald and husband Roberto Sr. of Dunn; brother James Fordham and wife Jean of Stedman; sister, Patricia Murphy and husband Edward of Rocky Mount; and grandchildren Delano Blaizes III, Danielle Blaizes, and Roberto McDougald Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 10:30 – 11 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Arrangements are by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
